Recently I entered Head On. So did Dee. And Emily. And Josh. Josh got in. Real shock there, even though it is some of the weakest work I’ve seen of him yet, including that of his final year… is it possible? He’s going backwards in skill and thought! Wow!
Anyway. If you’re planning to see Head On, don’t be surprised if you find the runners-up on the digital displays better than the ones who were chosen and printed. With the exception of the glorious black & white of the Asian person, most of the winners are sheer crap. Some are just bad beyond belief.
“Head On Alternative Portraits”? I guess “crap” is the new “alternative”, then again that’s no surprise. Look at today’s “alternative” music scene and you can probably say the same thing.
