The Colour Purple

Have I ever told you (Lady Web) my policy on the colour purple?

No, not the movie. If it were the movie, I’d have capitalised the letters in “the”, “colour”, and “purple”, as well as removed that “u” which makes us taught in the British way know we spell it right even if the Americans think we’re wrong. And I’m looking straight at one of my English teachers back in an American middle school I went to at that.

If you read this… you know who you are. Unless of course you have dementia, which is actually quite possible.

Anyway, my favourite colours lately are yellow, blue, and purple.

I like purple a lot. So much that I have a purple shirt (which is one of my favourite shirts to wear) and a purple bedspread.

Others have, in seeing my Leighlo & Stitch images, seen my purple shirt wearing and instantly said “feeling frustrated at all?” which means they’re relying on that old addage that purple is the colour of sexual frustration.

I find that notion ridiculous, especially with me.

My answer to this issue is the following:

I wear a purple shirt because I like the colour purple.

The fact that I’m sexually frustrated AND I like the colour purple is entirely coincidental.
