Unemployed dental records

And with this post I do declare the commissioning of a brand new category for my blog…

NEWS & CURRENT EVENTS!!!
(without the exclamation points)

Yes, rejoice immediately, cheer now… do something to celebrate it for the celebrations won’t last long as there is method to some of my madness and the method I will show you now relates to why I have commissioned this new category.

And it is…

I am sick to death of applying for jobs that don’t have the faintest inclination to message me back.

This is insane. There are apparently 144,173 jobs available online on Seek.com.au and who knows how many on MyCareer.com.au and yet as much as you apply to hundreds, you’re still technically only applying to a few because these so-called job search engines are saturated with agencies that either do nothing or are competing for the same job so ten of the jobs you look at could very well be the same job worded in a different way to make it seem like a completely different job.

And then they still won’t contact you back.

It’s insane. They say they want people, and yet you either get no response.

In my case, the responses I have had have been in the form of either “you’re too experienced” or “you’re not experienced enough”.

On the one hand, I can see the latter. Hey, I’m only 23. I’m not experienced enough. Rightio. Fair enough.

But the former… I’m 23. Twenty-three. How the fuck can I be “too experienced”?
Well, the answer is apparently a fear that I might be bored on a job. That’s all well and good, but you / they should let me decide whether or not that’s going to happen to me, not the other way around because… well, quite frankly… if you’re an employer or an agency and you’re trying to analyse me because you think you’ve got some mad and 1337 skills at picking up how people work… don’t.

Chances are you’re just a wannabe who doesn’t understand jack shit… least of all me.

As I was saying (before I went off on a tangent), I’m 23. How am I too experienced?!

Still, our government might end up making the unemployment rate of 4.6 percent higher with a rate rise this year.

Yeah, go you… people… you…

Such a smart thing to do.

There’s already 4.6 percent of the population of Australia subject to the bullshit scenarios that seem to play havoc with the job market and you want to go make more people stuck in here with the rest of us.

I have a contract job, but its pay is junk and have been wanting a full-time job since I lost mine to a company I theoretically could have taken to court over an unfair dismissal, but I didn’t because it would have been a waste of time (I wonder how many unfair dismissals have arisen over the amount of blog-activity in the past year or two).

So, for the past year-and-a-half, I’ve been stuck looking like the rest of the 4.6 percent… and guess what? The jobs seem to not happen.

Are they even real?

Seriously Mr. Howard, think about your people for once in your life and take an action to not make more people unemployed. The worst thing that can happen to someone is for a loss of morale, and quite frankly, while I never voted for you, I’m stuck with your foolish actions destroying my morale in the form of me not being able to find work.

I’m over-stating it here because it’s technically not your fault, but you’re still playing a part.

But with that in mind, I could — if I had been given a job by now — have gone to the dentist to fix up a gum-ache I’ve got at the moment… but I can’t.

This entire thing is irritating me… can you tell?

I apply, apply, apply, apply, apply, apply, and apply. Every day.

And once a week or two, I’m lucky to get a response telling me I’m either not qualified enough or the position was filled even thought the advertisement was just put in yesterday.

This whole market is fucked.
