This is cool… I've found two instances of myself tonight on the web. One was created by me earlier today while the other was caused by something I wrote in August.

Let's start with the one I knew about before Googling a term out of curiosity.

I've got a piece on APC's website at the moment about installing Mac OS on the MSI Wind. While I should probably have named the piece "The cheapest MacBook Air you'll see this year" because of the people now tearing me apart for the use of low-end notebooks being able to be modded for Hackintosh's, those people criticising modders for spending around fifty bucks to make their Wind into a Hackintosh Wind need to understand the following:

  • There is no currently released (as of time of writing this) 10 inch MacBook
  • The Wind has a longer lasting battery than any Mac laptop
  • I want something small, something Apple don't currently provide

There was one thing I forgot to write in my article and that's this: Mac OS runs better on the Wind than Windows XP. I usually use XP at the moment, that said, but that's because I'm used to it. I am booting into Mac OS lately to write all of my documents on the go because – and this is the kicker – the sleep mode on the Mac installation runs better than it does on the Windows installation. Weird, but useful.

So I have an article over at APC Mag at the moment that Gizmodo are linking to… which is cool (heh, I'm now one of the guys at APC… sweet).

The other thing is interesting too and relates to another article (the only other article at present time) I've written for APC.

A few weeks ago, I wrote about how Nvidia had gone and made a bunch of chips that had issues.

Well… now my thoughts have apparently been included on the Wiki for Nvidia:

A writer for "The Inquirer" has alleged that the problems potentially affect all G84 and G86 mobile video adapters, though NVidia have denied this. In response to this issue, Dell and HP released BIOS updates for all affected notebook computers which turn on the cooling fan earlier than before in an effort to keep the defective video adapter at a lower temperature. Leigh Stark has suggested that this may lead to the premature failure of the cooling fan.[17] It is also plausible that this resolution may only delay component failure past warranty expiration.

I like how it's written that I'm a someone… which is cool. Hey! I'm a someone! I'm Leigh Stark. Lol.

Cause it's true, you know. In case the South Park icon at the top of the page and title "Leigh D. Stark" didn't give it away.

:P

I can't even get phone reception in my room (thank you lack of decent telecommunication infrastructure in my suburb) and I'm on a Wiki.

Cool.

  • Rock that…you brain is large and well regarded by others.

Your totally right about the battery life on the mac’s. I used my powerbook as a portable for the first time since buying it and word processing for an hour was too much for the battery to handle.

Well you can’t be beautiful and functional, I guess.
