The downloaders’ argument

If TV stations around the world (especially in places like Australia) are ever left wondering why so many people turn to the web for getting their fix of their favourite TV program, let this serve as a good example:

Stargate Atlantis is currently on Channel Seven at the moment. It's a Thursday and it's airing from 11.30 PM 'till 12.30 AM. It's in a crappy time slot and has had little or no advertisement. It's airing the new season for Australia.

Because of all of these factors, it's likely that virtually no one is watching it… because no one knows it's on.

See… that right there is the argument of the downloader. It's not just that we're usually 1-3 years behind in airing schedule… it's also that when it does air, no one ever makes an effort to tell us it's on.
