Ash Monday

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

After spending the Easter weekend with my brother – him writing music while I sang possible vocal lines and worked on my book – Ash & I decided to go out on a … err… thing– would you call it a date? Geeze… I don't know.

Anyway, we'd only met during the Good Friday Exodus of the Drunk Damned so Monday, instead of drinking, we'd be seeing a movie.

A note to anyone who's at all interested in seeing Before The Devil Knows You're Dead: don't.

Wait for it on DVD. We should have.

You'll have more fun going out and taking pictures of whoever you planned on seeing the movie with so go do that (unless you're seeing it by yourself in which case you can keep your roll of film…)

Ash leaning against a wall. You can click on it to see it bigger if you like.

Pink Ribbon Meets Trilby

Monday, October 22nd, 2007

I was wondering when this day would occur. I knew it was coming but didn't realise it was actually upon us.

Aside for it being a Monday, I'm talking about Pink Ribbon Day!

While part of the reason I cheer is it gives me an excuse to pin something unexpected on my hat, I also proudly support it because it's something that not a lot of men seem to care about and… that's not just a shame, it's downright wrong.

I'm not saying that it's wrong for someone not to support the fight against breast cancer. You can believe in whatever you want and support whatever battles you like.

I'm saying that it's wrong for men not to support the pink ribbon if they really dig breasts themselves.

I mean hell, we've stared at them since we were maybe 8, confused because– wait, weren't these those useful things we used to suckle on when we were younger? –and now we find that all girls have them?!

What wonders!

So we stare, we pass a glance, we admire from a distance. We download pictures, drool in secret, as well as touch, grab, fondle, kiss and hope for slightly more interesting activities with a member of the family that we'd be arrested for if we so chose to show it in public.

And we do it all for the love of the breast.

And if you're one of those people who loves the breast and all that it stands for, then you need to be supporting Pink Ribbon Day.

Without the breast, you'd just be another pile of dribbling slop.
The breast cements you.
The breast gives you reason to live.
It provides you with milk and enjoyment; it's like a cow that sings and dances.

Plain and simple, the breast is brilliant… and you need to support it.

Trilby Hunter

Monday, July 16th, 2007

By now, you've probably noticed that I've updated my original South Park me to the new South Park me.

What I mean by this — in case you have no idea what I'm talking about — is that the logo in the corner there of a South Park me in a trilby hat is the new logo for me whereas the old one was this:

I still wear my "Freak" hat from time to time, but my Stitch hat gets worn more often and I pretty much only wear my Trilby hat.

The Trilby hat is an icon … but it seems to be an icon people constantly want to try to steal off of me.

So, to make it easier for me to not worry as much about the arrogant asses of the world constantly trying to steal my hat AND to give me more choice, I'm becoming a trilby hunter… and I'm drafting you!

Now shut up… you don't get any choice about this. Okay, you do, but this is what I want you to do:

If you live in Sydney and you see a trilby in a store, write down the store name or remember it and post it in a comment for this blog entry. I must have more trilby's! I simply must!

Sure, I could buy from eBay … but then I wouldn't get to try it on…

Hey, I'm actually tempted to make a fedora out of Fedora
